Is Online Bingo Actually Random

by scott on Aug.07, 2009, under Bingo

There is some mystery involved when playing bingo online, as you never get to see your opponents or even the caller. But one of the biggest enigmas when making the move from land-based to online bingo is the issue of randomization. In a land-based hall, you see the balls being shuffled in a hopper and you know that the result cannot be fixed, but when playing online, deep down you wonder if you can get the same randomized result.

Well, the answer is “yes”. All of the numbers called in online bingo are, indeed, random. They are not called in a predetermined order. Instead, online bingo websites use a Random Number Generator (RNG), which is based on mathematic algorithms. These algorithms create a completely random series of numbers every time the program is run. A lot of work goes into create one of these algorithms, as experienced engineers spend a great deal of time working on building a program that has the same results as a real-time shuffle.

When online bingo cards are given out to players, the same RNG is used. Every bingo card you use will have completely different numbers, so you cannot keep using the same bingo cards for more than one game. If you did, the RNG would become disoriented and it would either give you an unfair advantage or put you at a great disadvantage. All of this complex technology allows online bingo websites including free bingo websites to give their players the fairest possible chance at winning.
Online bingo certainly operates differently from land-based bingo, which can make some players uneasy, but bingo websites employ very complex technology to ensure that each player is getting a fair chance at winning.
